<p>And now for something completely different…London Fashion Week. With all the incredible studio jewelers in London, it would seem to be a natural fit for British designers to really personalize their looks with a few well chosen, or even custom-made, items. Not sure why more of them don’t — there was very little by way of ornamentation on the runways.</p>
<div id="attachment_2679" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 210px"><img src="http://www.jewelhistory.com/files/2009/02/marykatrontzoufall092-200x300.jpg" alt="Mary Katrontzou Fall 2009" title="marykatrontzoufall092" width="200" height="300" class="size-medium wp-image-2679" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Mary Katrontzou Fall 2009</p></div>
<p>Debuting her sartorial aesthetic on the runway was Mary Katrantzou, who apparently is also a jewelry designer (ah…a double threat!). As you can see, she’s taken gold tubing, chains, and mirrors and integrated them seamlessly into her clothing designs. You cannot readily see where the dress begins and the jewel ends. </p>
<div id="attachment_2681" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 210px"><img src="http://www.jewelhistory.com/files/2009/02/marykatrontzoufall093-200x300.jpg" alt="Mary Katrontzou Fall 2009" title="marykatrontzoufall093" width="200" height="300" class="size-medium wp-image-2681" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Mary Katrontzou Fall 2009</p></div>
