What causes us recall the image of a beau­ti­fully dressed women? The ones whose look we covet, mem­o­rize, and buzz about. Is it the clothes, or lack thereof? The jewels…their size, color, or qual­ity? Is it the shoes and/or the bag that pro­vide the beat? If we can’t dis­sect the look, then what? We can’t ignore her, and we can­not quite grasp her. She one of those women who can­not be gilded as the usual lily.

The jew­elry on the run­ways of Paris Spring 2013 was a jum­ble of forms and styles, rang­ing from Mad Max meets Dia­mond Lil’ to Fred Flint­stone meets Art Smith. Next spring is a new dis­cus­sion. There is no Kool-Aid to drink from, instead there are choices to imbibe, and vinous moods to explore. I’ll leave you here with a few face framers:
