Alber Elbaz showed the Lan­vin Spring 2012 today. Jew­elry for Lan­vin is always on the agenda and the iconog­ra­phy he chose for the run­way spoke of faith (cru­ci­fix) and power (eagle). There were also choker-length jew­eled neck­laces and what appeared to be bold gaspipe-like fit­ted col­liers — retro­mod­erne yet con­tem­po­rary. The short lengths in the jew­elry gave them some­thing of a neo-sartorial pur­pose, bring­ing sharp focus to the neck­line, shoul­ders, and face.
