What hap­pens when the fash­ion for state­ment jew­els retires to place where all trends are laid to rest, ie, the back of our clos­ets? We will need a new one won’t we? This image from the Armani Prive run­way is the har­bin­ger of things to come: blend­ing color, and yet the sparkle shines through. Above, Armani is work­ing with a metal­lic fab­ri­ca­tion and a crys­tal and dia­mante orna­ment; the over­all look is height­ened but no one ele­ment acts as a focal point. It’s a kind of impres­sion­ist approach that allows us to see the woman first.
