What would you wear to break up that blank—oops, sorry— black can­vas above? Given that this is a jew­elry blog, the answer is pretty obvi­ous. Still, what would you choose? Long gold chains? A lay­er­ing of pen­dants? A brooch? A great big pair of ear­rings? Fab, bold bracelets? Pearls? If vin­tage is your bent, what peri­ods would you work with it? If you pre­fer con­tem­po­rary pieces, great. Which houses/artisans/jewelers? These are the ques­tions to ask your­self now, because comes Fall 2009, Eric Wil­son of The New York Times says design­ers are fad­ing to black.
